Locating Government Publications in Science and Technology
- Scientific literature published by and for the United States Government is an important
source of information in the physical sciences and engineering.
- The federal government performs about ten percent of its own research, and contracts
out the rest to industry, universities, and nonprofit organizations.
- The focus of this tutorial is on identifying and locating the literature of federal
government research in the physical sciences and engineering. For more information
about locating all types of government publications, see Tapping the
Government Grapevine by Judith Schiek Robinson, 2nd ed. (1993). This
item is available at call number 025.1734R563T1993 in the
Library and Information Science Library,
the Documents Library, and the
Reference Room. You can also ask a
reference librarian for help!
